Good day,
My name is Proto. I am a freelance developer with around 4 years experience is multiple languages. Languages consist of Visual Basic, C#, Python, Objective-C, AppleScript, C++, Java, HTML and CSS. I am the lead developer on the IDE (Integrated Development Environment) project; Panther Onyx IDE. I have previous experience coding with the Brigade with the cancelled project Dropshock Express (or DSExpress). That project was cancelled due to various security issues, and was pulled immediately, to the acknowledgement of myself, Vitamin R and Syphex at the time. If you wish for me to help with any project that you might be working on (as long as it's not exam related) then I am always happy to help :D

Prologue to a lost journal
So, my original journal which I had here was saved to a file on my computer when I go rid of it to do something else on my profile. It had 8 chapters I believe, from the moment I started, to the fall of Victor Platoon, to my departure. However, since then my computer died on me with the file, never to be seen again, so I start a new one today, hoping that this time it'll stay.
Planning a return
I've been gone for the last 3 months and yet I still come back to this place to chat to old friends. Over the last week I've been thinking of a return to DSB, but it would have to be after May (as Exams are taking a toll). I do miss DSB a lot so yeah, expect to see my third and possibly final enlistment here.
Conference's Everywhere
With E3 and Apple' s WWDC (as well as a Microsoft day conference which I attended), either coming or is going, this month is going to be busy. So if you wish to talk to me, make sure that there isn't a conference on that I might be watching!
Air Surf, a alternative web browser.
So the project which I've been doing, is soon to hit its Beta release (v3 Breeze)! Extreme amounts of attention is been given to the coding and I do believe I've done 2 all nighters already to get this ready. There are one or two thinks to sort out with the databasing, but other than that it just needs some nice graphics to go with it! The current looks a bit...basic. Beta starts 25th June 2012!
Trail and Error prevailed, Bugs fixed! Air Surf: Open Beta GO!
It's all finally done. Air Surf is ready for the open beta! I even had time to fit in a installer for it ^^. Over the last 3 months I have fixed a total of 130 bugs in Air Surf...that's quite a number! Now all there is left too do is release it on the 25th June...oh waits that's tomorrow! Oh and to keep what I said to Callisto in a skype convo...I am returning!
I'm back! Air Surf = Success. Restart DSB Career
So Air Surf was a great success (even though an installer bug did hinder) and now I'm back with DSB as a recruit. Didn't expect the welcome backs I got, but its good to be back! Just 2 more weeks huh!
Back where I belong...hell on earth <3
So I am now once again a Private hoping to reach my original Victor rank of specialist and then go on further. I've been thrown in to the new Whiskey platoon with Gungrave leading it...oh god, who gave that mad man power, and after being in original victor with him, giving him power is never a good idea! But I'm back now! Enjoy...
Summer is here, and as always too much work
So the summer holidays have arrived and as always, my teachers have given me a ton of work to do over the summer hols. I have to get a 5000 word essay done for my EPQ, about a good 10 paged Analysis for Computer Science, and a draft analysis for ICT...all due in on September 4th...sigh. But anyway I plan to get it all done (at some point), as well as play some games from the Steam Summer Sale!
One step closer to getting my old rank back
So I have reached the rank of Private First Class after a month of being here and I can now say that I am one step closer to getting my old rank of Specialist back...which is actually the next rank I will receive. I have had a really good time here, and even got one of my friends to join up. I wish Angered well in his Enlistment process and I hope that he does well overall.
Proto's Pick - A new section in The Press
So I somehow made myself get on to the press. The original plan was to become a supervisor for the section "Tech Time", but instead I got my own little section called Proto's Pick! It currently is in the trail phase and is going rather well. But I wasn't expecting my own little segment in The Press, and even more to become a member of PR! Proto's Pick is published on Wednesdays during the evening GMT.
Exam Results Day
So, I got my results and quite frankly I am very happy with them, however I shall be wanting to re-sit one of my Computing exams again as I did a shoddy job of it, and hopefully I will get a better grade than I did (last years exam in CS I got a D in Unit 2 so I do need to do it again!). Otherwise its been a successful day! I even found out that I had jumped from a U (fail) in ICT last year to a C this year so I am very, very happy with the result! My hope is to get into the University of Lincoln to study Computer Science for a BSc (Bachelor of Science) which takes about 3 years + 1 additional to get a MSc (Master of Science). However, I must look at my A2's and any necessary re-sits I need to take before I look at University, well not until January 2013 :D
Bugger! Xbox needs replacing
I think the title says it all pretty much. Xbox is completely nakard, and it would be to damn expensive just to replace all the parts. So I'm looking into buying a new Xbox 360, so I can stop punching the shite out of my current one. So if any British gent can tell me were a good deal is, it would be much appreciated!
New Project, no need for me to leave
I started a new project (yeah well what else is new). This one is called Project Onyx which will be a fully functional IDE. Best bit about this project, is that I haven't given myself a deadline for it, I've gone for "when it's done" approach. I've always been interested with programming languages, and now I have opened up that gate to start creating my own IDE, I am really excited to see how it fairs out :D
Still alive guys, honest
I maybe on LoA for over a month, but I'm not dead. Saving up for this new xbox has been a bit difficult, especially with the lack on income. There is more going out than going in, so saving is rather difficult. Trying to keep the ISA a float with the savings but I've had to break into it once or twice, which is of great concern for me. Hopefully though, I should be back on my feet in no time.

Halo 4, Project Aurora and other things
Halo 4 is out, already finished it on Legendary Solo, aswell as the first to Spartan Ops episodes. Also college is doing this EPQ (Extended Project Qualification), and like me, I decided to program....as that is what I do best. Project Aurora is a media player idea I had a while back, and I'm starting on it soon once I get the confirmation that I can do it. This shouldn't be too much of a challenge. In the other section history has returned (surprisingly) and then enlistments are once again open...anyone for a sponsoring spree?
When the trojan horse comes knocking on your door
So Dropshock got hacked (again) and this time they left a lovely present...an trojan horse by the name "foto.exe". This isn't the first time I've seen the virus and its a bugger. However removing it, it fairly easy, just need a virus scanner and you are good to go. That is, if you haven't opened it...then you may want to do something about it...and quick. But Vitamin restored the site, Dropshock is healthy once again, and hopefully this won't happen again.
