In this issue will include:
-A summary of the weeks news in the community as a whole and DSB specifically.
-News on all recent announcements and some DSB Universe news.
-An interview with 1Lt. Deuce.
DSB News:
First things first, we have had an announcement this week, specifically regarding a new charity organization Syphex is setting up. He is currently looking for Graphic Artists, Online Event Coordinators and Volunteer Assistants but more jobs are promised to be emerging soon. You can also fill out a form there that will show your dedication to the project. This is extremely important and I suggest everyone heads to the link here.
We also have 2 approaching clan matches that can be found under events if your interested in signing up. They are against, Dark Perfection and Lions Den; we also have the Zulu Platoon Night of Fun so if you're interest that can also be found under the events section. The link's here. so if your still wanting to snag that Onyx Clan Match ribbon then that's the place to go.
The April edition of MotM is up, Dragon has interviewed Darknight and it's an absolutely excellent read that can be seen directly below this. Give him a comment and a rating to show the love.
Interview:
Aztec: This week I have managed to get myself an interview with Deuce himself. So Deuce, could you tell yourself a little bit about yourself for anyone that may not know?
Deuce: Well, I just turned 23 years old today. I am graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree this week in Mechanical/Nuclear Engineering with minors in Mathematics and Physics. After graduation, I will be going out into the workforce. Don't worry though, I will still find time for Halo and the Brigade ;)
Aztec: Good good, so how long have you been with us here at DSB?
Deuce: A year and 5 months with some hiatus somewhere in-between.
Aztec: So what do you get up to outside of Xbox and Dropshock life?
Deuce: I have been playing guitar since I was 12. That is my biggest hobby outside of gaming. I have been in so many bands that I cannot count them all, but I currently just play for myself. It is therapeutic to play and listen to music. I also enjoy playing soccer with my friends.
Aztec: So after you finish up graduation, any trips planned? Anaheim catching your attention? Or are you just going to be straight into the workplace?
Deuce: Well, MLG wised up and decided that Reach was losing them money so I will not be attending Anaheim. I used to live about 20 minutes away from there years ago. I will probably go to the beach or something of the sort. I guess we'll see.
Aztec: Well about MLG wising up; dropping of Halo from the circuit, opinion?
Deuce: I understand where they are coming from with not taking a risk and losing money on it, but at the same time, it is a huge disappointment to see Halo and MLG part ways even if only momentarily. It seems that there is far more interest in PC games at the moment.
Aztec: Temporarily? You think Halo 4 could kick Halo back into the centre stage? How do you think H4 is looking so far?
Deuce: If nothing else, MLG will at the very least give Halo 4 a shot. It typically takes several iterations to develop the ideal MLG maps, gametypes and settings. It is unfortunate that just as Reach peaked in settings, it was removed from live events. I think Halo 4 will be much more successful in the MLG scene. While I am not too fond of several changes that 343i is making for the social aspects, they are providing some of the best customisation in any console FPS at this time. I believe 343i realizes the importance of MLG to Halo and wants to see it succeed.
Aztec: Amen to that; now where are you gaming roots?
Deuce: I got my start on the original NES system with Ninja Turtles the arcade game. As a kid, I was a HUGE ninja turtles fan so I played that game a lot. When the N64 came out, I got that and played countless hours of Goldeneye and Super Smash Bros with my neighbours. That is really what got me into FPS games. Soon after that, I started playing Half Life and Team Fortress Lans in my friend’s dining room. They had 6 PCs in there and we would LAN with his dad and his two brothers. Those were some of the best all nighters I have had. Another friend got me into Halo CE and I have played Halo ever since.
Aztec: GoldenEyes a good call, you get my approval. So final question, who would you like to see interviewed next week? I seem to be working down the chain of command at the moment…
Deuce: Well, that seems like a good way to do things.
Deuce: An interview with Syphex on his current philanthropy project would be interesting for sure.
Aztec: Maybe Syphex'll be getting a message soon…
Aztec: So finally, is there anyone you'd like to shoutout for great work or just general awesomeness?
Deuce: I want to make a shout out to my XO Crayola for doing such a fantastic job all of the time and for putting up with me. Additionally, every single person in Echo for keeping the storm brewing even when I'm not looking.
Aztec: And with the we round out this weeks interview, thanks to Deuce for joining me and be sure to leave who'd you would like to see in the comments!
Gaming News:
Here it is, the regular summary of Sgt. Darknight and LCpl. Rugs most recent articles from the past couple of days:
Starting with Darknight this week, he has some Halo 4 news fresh from the Gamer Live site and regards the book that will be further exploring the Halo: 4 universe. A video is embedded that covers the making of Halo 4 and is really worth a read so I suggest heading there and checking it out.
Second topic covered is once again Halo: 4 and comes from XBOX magazine. I won't ruin it for you but it covers the supposed ancient enemy that will be featuring in Halo: 4. Frank O'Connor has hinted that 'we'll encounter living, breathing Forerunners on Requiem, the Dyson Sphere glimpsed in the first Halo 4 trailer.'
The third news falls once again under Halo: 4 and covers a website that features all the Halo history. It covers all the history from 1,000,000,000 years to current day Halo. The site is linked in the article and can be found here.
Moving onto LCpl. Rugs, he has put together an article that contains a wide range of stories. The first covered is about Black Ops II not being expected to break records. He goes into an excellent amount of detail on this and some discussion has taken place in the comments so do go check it out and join in.
The 2nd covers a re-release of Tony Hawks Pro Skater this time in HD that'll be releasing in June. This game was originally on PS1 and if you want more info on that and a link to the Jostiq article then click the link to the article here.
Finally we cover a new Kinect feature that is rumored to track your health and fitness. It will be an addition to the dashboard so it'll be easy access for any of you health freaks out there. This final piece comes straight from IGN.
Conclusion:
Thanks for reading as usual please drop who you'd like to see interviewed below. I intended to talk with Vode and Jester as a double as suggested by Turtlez and Gungrave but time zones and things made it hard to sort out. See you next week!
