The gameplay wasn't anything special. Nothing clutch, nothing unique, just a bunch of multikills. Even if any clip was impressive, it would be really hard to appreciate it due to the editing. Which brings me to my next point.
Technically, that editing is fantastic. If this were for a school project or something, that would be great. But this is for people to view and enjoy, which the editing does not do a good job with. This is a pretty text book example of over editing. Some clips got it worse than others, but I'm pretty sure every single clip got over edited. I do not need 2-4 angles on every kill. I do not need to see where every grenade bounced. Every loud thump of the music does not need to be accompanies by a shot or transition. On short 5 second clips, I don't need transitions to the exact moment of the kill to shorten it to 1.5 seconds. I do not need nearly 20% of my montage to be wasted on things that aren't gameplay. Heck, a good part of that isn't even credits, but simply following a glowing orb around while waiting for the montage to actually start.
I watch montages to see good game play, not to see how many unique angles of someone dying an editor can get.

That's quite a montage. I've never seen pro players from Sweden, Germany, and Finland before.
I'm pretty sure nobody in this montage is a pro. Community montages generally are for people who have a couple good clips, but not enough to make a montage and who don't have connections to good editors. None of which really applies to pros. As well, I don't actually know if any of those countries have Halo pros, as I don't know of any major league or competition based there that would be able to bestow the title of pro on them. NA has MLG and Australia has ACL, but I don't actually know of any others. Some Euros might know better than me, but regardless, I still don't think anyone in this montage is pro.
I'm not going to quote that Kou ;), but I would have to disagree. The clips were pretty similar to anything that you see when you type in 'Montage', but they were still very good clips. Secondly, some of the editing in that was astonishing. I won't give examples because the points are pretty self explanatory. I disagree with you, but it is your opinion and I respect that.

Yes, the clips are good, but they aren't great. When your clips are a dime a dozen, they don't make for great montages. They make for mediocre, dime a dozen montages, but you should want your montage to stand out.
Yes, the editing is great, but it takes away from the clips. You should be using editing to improve the clips without being distracting. When something is as over edited as this, it goes the opposite direction. It puts all of the focus on the editing and takes away from the already unimpressive clips.
This is pretty standard for any video editing. The people making movies, like say Transformers, don't want you to go see the movie and say "Wow, the editing they did on Optimus Prime looks great." They want you to say "Wow, Optimus Prime looks great." Editing is for creating a great end product without being distracting. IMO, the moment a regular viewer (ie. someone watching to enjoy it, not someone looking to critique it) notices the editing rather than the result of the editing, the editor has failed. I noticed, was distracted by, and was annoyed by the editing by the first clip on Zealot.
Fair points. That is what is good about FBWalshyFTW though. There are montages for whatever your taste, whether you like just clips and music or clips that have been bombarded by Cinema 4D and After Affects.
And I agree with the floating orb, that could of at least been shorter.
Did you watch the entire video?
