| So one thing i've always liked about the Halo games, how much you can customize you're spartan. I mean you get to make you're spartan YOURS. That's something CoD never did. Do you guys think they'll have cool armor equipment and what not? |

| I hope so. Customization, like you said, is what really allowed the player to truly create their own spartan that would signify who they were. Unless 343 had reasons against it, I'm sure we will see the return of customizable armor permutations.

| As long as it doesn't alter gameplay, bring it on. From what I've heard though it does. :/

yup! It bothers me that I won't be able to wear the armor I like because it might not be as effective as anything else. I hate the idea of having to choose between looking good and playing good

| If so, I'm banking on it being like Skyrim where the best armour is also the most aesthetically beautiful

| I'm all for customization and everything, but if it alters gameplay, keep it non-competitive alterations only. Like only having the effects in Campaign and the theoretical Spec-Ops/FF mode or Custom games as an option. Modifying gameplay is too cheap and they are sliding into the "Longer you play, more unfair it becomes" mode that lots of games use.

| thats true...i really hope it doesnt alter gameplay. I mean thats cool and all, but i would rather go for looks and skill, not skill and armor that looks stupid but makes me play better...Because i would choose look cool and probably die a lot...hahaha |

| They said the armor you choose would have an effect on your matchmaking spartan. These are probably things like if you have lighter armor you can sprint longer or if you have a grenade belt you get extra grenades. I'm sure there others but of course they have been vague about it.

| i heard that they said its a thought they had but propally never going to hppen beacuse a armoured juggernaut -fatsuit kid- could take a sniper bullet to the head and also hes in active camo with sniper he can just get free kills all day and no one can kill him and if this happens EVERYONE WILL BE WEARING A FATSUIT SO THEY LIVE FOREVER so in my eyes it will never happen its sounds more like rainbow six vegas 2 more then halo if you ask me. |

| I couldn't care less about aesthetic customization of armor. Someone once summed up my perspective perfectly. "Ooooh. I need to buy new clothes for my Space Barbie!"
It's a part of the game, and I have tinkered with it a little bit, but if they removed it tomorrow I wouldn't care. |

No need for this... The chief is looking as Anorexic as ever in his new skimpy armor.

| I don't like the idea of armour customization affecting gameplay one bit. The way I see it, it could easily run into the same problem as the CoD perk system. After a while the community will figure out the best setups and then everyone will stick to them. That's not customization in my mind. People should choose armour because they like it, not because of the in game bonuses it provides.

| This is like the argument with AA's... The question is not whether it should be included in the game or not... It should rather be where it's implemented or not.
In Campaign, that's a genius idea. I had thought that maybe a better attachment on your armor could give you a better radar, longer range scope, boosts shields slightly, gives you more ammo, etc.
However, in MM, it should be completely even ground. I could have played for 20 days total and have the best armor in the game that makes me borderline invincible, and that takes away from the skill factor of the game. It's not "fair".

| Someone had mentioned female spartans in an earlier post. I think it's interesting with the social movement that has been going on in the world. A few months ago I heard a radio news story that some video game similar to the sims had an option for a character based on the characters sexuality. Will that ever come to Halo and if so, how would a gay spartan differ from a straight spartan? |

| It will most likely never hit the game. Video games, and media in general should remain neutral about such things, and having an option of either straight or gay spartan would possibly drive down sales of the game, not to mention, there is almost no need for a gay and/or straight spartan in the game to begin with.

| I agree with Tank's last sentence.
I do believe that sexuality is something games will and should have to deal with. Games like The Sims and Mass Effect already have. But that's because those are games where relationships are a large part of the games and you have control over them.
That isn't true for Halo. The only relationships are already set in stone and we aren't going to have any control over them. Sexuality really has no place in an FPS. If you want to imagine your Spartan (who 343 really does want you to feel is yours) is homosexual, bisexual, or whatever, then go ahead. But there will probably never be any sort of in game representation.

| This is a shooting game not a role playing game. There is no need for sexual preference to be specified and it doesn't matter at all.
