The match:
There was a little trouble getting equal sides as at the beginning Lima had 6 members ready to go, while Victor only had 4. The scheduled time of 6:30pm was missed, but over time people dropped out and the teams were whittled down to form a 3v3. Lima Platoon was represented by myself, Vode and Paqan. Meanwhile Victor Platoon was represented by Flash, Aztec and Maverick.
Game One:
The first match was scheduled as CTF on Sanctuary, but as it was only a 3v3, it was decided we would play it as a Team Slayer game instead. At the start of the match two players from each time rushed to get Ring control and grab Camo, whilst the remaining player went to get the Sniper. Maverick suceeded in getting Camo, and Paqan and Aztec killed each other in the opening fight for Ring control. Lima was confined to their objective early on as Victor grabbed Ring 2 control and both Snipers. We made a strong assault on Ring 2, which was rebuffed and followed by Victor making a push across our Pea and into our Hut. We rallied and counter-attacked, succeeding in gaining back both our Hut and Ring 2.
Score: Lima Platoon 10 -
14 Victor Platoon
We held Ring 2 and fought back as Victor made a strong effort to get rid of us, supported by Aztec sniping from their Objective. We began to take the lead in the slaying and soon caught up to them. Unfortunately Victor made a strong push and succeeded in taking back Ring 2, and once again pushing into our Hut. Again, we counter-attacked and pushed them out of our Hut, but not before they had regained the lead. We once again took back Ring 2 but were immediately under heavy pressure from Victor.
Score: Lima Platoon 26 -
27 Victor Platoon
Once again they made a small push into Ring 2, and nearly succeeded, but we managed to drive them back as we spawned in Rocks and swarmed into Ring 2 from our Jump and Carbine. Now that we held Ring 2 we had the lead for the first time in the match. The game was back and forth from here on out, with one side gaining a lead of one or two kills before the other pulled it back. Neither side could gain a definite advantage, but after some solid play from Lima around Ring 2 and our Rocks we managed to get a 5 kill lead. Victor still held Ring 2 but it was constantly changing hands and we were beginning to out slay them. In the end we managed to hold Ring 2, and as one of them rushed Camo I was able to kill him, forcing him to burn Camo. A second later Vode was able to get a body shot on Aztec with a Sniper, killing him at his Jump and netting the final kill of the match.
Final Score: Lima Platoon 50 -

Game Two:
The second match was Team Slayer on Penance. As I had covered this on practice a week or two earlier we were very proficient on this map and knew our strategy right from the start. Knowing Rockets wouldn't spawn at the beginning we rushed straight to get top control. Paqan and Vode rushed to Green Room with Vode picking up sniper on the way, while I ran to Bottom Shotty, grabbed the Shotgun and lifted up. Victor Platoon has a similar idea and also rushed for top contol. It ended up with Vode on Green Plat and Paq in Sniper Room facing Aztec and Flash in Green Room and Maverick in Sniper Room, while I layed down fire from Top Bridge. We managed to win the opening skirmish, gaining top control and a narrow lead. I then covered Green Room with the Shotgun and GL, while Vode covered Portal as Paq came off respawn to support me. I was killed by a determined push from Victor to gain Green Room, with Paw arriving just in time to hold Green Room after my death. Vode and Paq held down Top Control while I ported through to suppor them and help cover Portal and Top Shotty. They made several pushes to gain top control, and were eventually successful, leaving them with map control as Flash grabbed rockets as they spawned. We still held a narrow one kill lead, but things were against us.
Score: Lima Platoon 12 -

We rallied, and with the help of a lucky spawn in Green Room were able to resecure top control, but with the power weapons in the hands of Victor the match was all tied up with neither side having a clear lead. Vode managed to get Camo and Rockets, and by this point Victor had a 5 kill lead, so these rockets would be crucial. An unfortunate accident involving Vode, me, a rocket and an enemy was overcome as we luckily spawned close by and rescured them. However Victor Platoon utilised top control very effectively and were unable to eat into their lead. We once again grabbed rockets off the respawn, and using them in conjuction with Vode's Sniper Rifle we were able to retake top control. We soon managed to bring things level, and with some helpful headshots from Vode we took a narrow 1 kill lead. From here on we got into an effective set up, with me covering Top and Bottom Shotty, Paq covering Green Room, and Vode sitting the Green Room stealing faces with his Sniper. In addition to our top control, Paqan managed to grab rockets and go on an Killing Spree with them, whilst Vode managed to get Camo every time it came up and continued to be the face stealing psycopath I'm now convinced he is. We managed to grab a 6 kill lead, and they made a last ditch effort to take top control, we we managed to push back. With one minute remaining we held top control, and had a convincing 9 kill lead. We needed three kills to win, and I soon grabbed one with the grenade launcher. I then used the grenade launcher to lower an opponents shields for the second, whilst Vode and myself dropped down to get Camo. Vode managed to kill Flash who was also going for it, giving us a convining victory, and winning us the series.
