| Okay, so you all know the deal. I post some lyrics, you say what song they are from. Well guess what, that is NOT what we are doing. Instead, when somebody posts lyrics, it is the next poster's job to give their take on those lyrics. It's not to complicated, I don't think, so let's just try it. If needed, I'll elaborate a bit more.
And if I knew my time would come
With the lines rehearsed but never sung
I'd leave the chorus on your tongue
I swear
Now I look around to see the ground beneath my feet
Every second takes a thousand days away from me
And if i close my eyes
I hear the gates swing wide
And by the morning light
I will have seen both sides
Post your thoughts below. Afterwards, post some lyrics for people to contemplate. Also, try to post bands you enjoy that other people might not now, that way they actually think about the lyrics, not just what they know they actually mean.
Red like roses fills my dreams and brings me to the place you rest
White is cold and always yearning burdened by a royal test
Black the beast descends from shadows
Yellow beauty burns gold |

| It seems to be revolving around his/her thought of mortality, and wishing he/she could say what he/she wanted to truly say, but was too afraid of.
Try these lyrics,
If you only knew how much I'd die just to hold you without my hands disguised
As the darkness approaches the light, I welcome the dead into my soul
And as vanity strikes with a vengeance to bury me under this 6 feet of snow
I've fallen in love
I'm a man with scissors for hands, I long for a love that I know I can't have
It's so sad, my heart in your hands, I melt like the snow in the part where you dance
(the part where you dance)

| Sounds like Edward Scissorhands in love. A man who is unable to express his feelings to the one that he loves. The woman controls his emotions.
What’s it like to be a marble?
Did I get something in your eye?
She’s a referee, and I’m lethally
Overdosed on pumpkin pie.
Yes the future is mount delicious son
But the leaf changes forms continuum
My destiny is calling me, it says
Jon Mess you should own a gun.

| It sounds as if he has done wrong and now she has that stuck with her. Now because of what he did he is regretting it and and is thinking about ending his life. (Honestly have no idea, but that is what i got out of it)
Strange things happen in nighttime hours
Yesterday's buds, tomorrow's flowers
Those who speak numbers, refuse the great forgiver
And powerful men raise your hands and deliver
All the superstitions to which we all cling
While high minds in Geneva ponder e8 vs. string
The sun hides itself, concealing its grin
And waits for the dawn to reveal itself again
Oh, young cardinals
Nesting in the trees
Oh, hear our songs
And reign your innocence on me
Have fun....

| seems like the song is saying that things change over night and those who refuse change never make it.
I used to roll the dice
feel the fear in my enemies eyes
listen as the crownd would sing:
"Now the old king is dead long live the king!"
One Minute i held the key
Next the walls had closed on me
I discovered that my castles Stand
Upon Pillars Of Salt and pillars of sand
good luck |

| The song is referring to a time of where the singer was in complete control. Towards then end of the verse though, we learn that the singer has lost just about everything and that he can not control his own fate.
She's well acquainted
With the touch of the velvet hand
Like a lizard on a window pane
The man in the crowd with the
Multicolored mirrors on his hobnail boots
Lying with his eyes
While his hands are busy working overtime
A soap impression of his wife
Which he ate and donated to the National Trust
