| The following decision has come after two weeks of debating it. In the new year a lot of new changes will occur that have never been seen in the Brigade. Most of these have to do with rank structure. On January 1st there will be a lot of new promotions and by a lot I mean over fifty percent of you will be promoted. But the biggest rank change will be that of second Lieutenant. For the longest time making lieutenant was like winning the lottery. You were in the right place at the right time. Honestly though most NCOs do the work of Lieutenants. So after much thought I've decided that we're going to add a few new officers to our staff here. This in turn will open up a gateway of promotions and advancement opportunities. I know some are saying why are you doing this?
The answer is because its whats best for this place. While my old platoon ranking system looked pretty on the site it was actually hurting you. Many of you could be promoted now but if there wasn't room you simply weren't. Also it is now possible for Lieutenants to lead platoons. The rank of Lieutenant will become a little more common. Those of you with aspirations will want to focus on hitting the rank of Major. That will be the impossible task.
This is a shock to most of you I know. But I feel that this will allow us to do things that we couldn't do before due to our limited resources.
Keep in mind though that with easier promotions comes easier demotions. Since I'd have a few more officers running the place it would be quite easy to demote one and keep everything running smoothly. This will ensure that each officer is doing exactly what they're suppose to be doing whether its for a platoon, company, or department. The big idea though is that this will give a lot of you real leadership experience and a chance for you to make a big impact on the brigade.
Company leadership will change as well. Callisto and Valorious will still be leading their respective companies but they will go through an entire day of company training and officer training to reinforce what they already know.
Why am I doing this? Its because I'm not going to be around here forever and I need people who can run this site not just lead practices and events but who can actually do administrative work. Some of you may hate this idea or not agree with the people I promote but I do it because I know they can do the job so all I ask is that you have faith in me and in them as well.
This has never been done before in the history of the brigade and I take full responsibility if it fails but I know it won't. So come January first some of your platoon CO's will have a new rank as well as many of you.
I realize this is a huge change but it will not affect much as you'll still be led by the same people. I honestly just want to see more officers and have the ability to get some new talent and perspectives into the officer pool while also giving you, the personnel, the opportunity to advance and make an impact on the brigade and in the lives of your friends here. I haven't messed up big time yet so I ask you to take this risk with me and together we can make the brigade a more enjoyable, creative, and productive place.

| Syphex, people need to move on to new things in life, and if one of them is leaving the clan to new leadership, then so be it

| This will work great and the reason that it will work is because we already have die-hard officers like Callisto and Valorious...
To quote them, they said they will be here until this clan dies...
Lets see if we can add a few more people to this list of dedicated people...

| I know I'm the new guy here -- but just my two cents from the 24 hours of assessment of everyone if it counts for anything...
Your a very welcoming and open clan, good leaders who watch out for people and try to help them, and senior leadership is obviously all over it.
Just from reading the history in the FM, and seeing your interactions on here -- any change that you want to make will be for the best. Can already tell your all over it.
Like I said -- just my newbie input but very impressed with all of you so far, and have utter faith and confidence in any decision that is made.
Hope your having a great day and thanks again for the chance here.
Very Respectfully,
Recruit DK

| Seems like a solid initiative. Even as a recruit waiting to go through bootcamp, I agree with the notion that more incentive to get promoted will result in more proactive members. |

I would like to second Shatter's statement.
